We enjoy the design of the SLs. From the lovely early cars to the more modern designs of the 1990s/2000s, they share a DNA that is unmistakable and very pretty.

Our car is one of the best examples having been cared for thoroughly by the 2 owners since new, supplied to both from the biggest Mercedes-Benz retailer in the UK at the time, Alan Day Ltd in Swiss Cottage.

The first owner had her for a mere 2 years before then the second owner was fortunate enough to get behind the wheel. She is one of the very last versions having been first registered in November 2000 - superseded thereafter in 2001 - and is to the highest specification with a panoramic hard top, leather interior with heated & electric seats, electric operation of the mohair soft top and the five spoke alloy wheels only specified on these later models. The V6 power plant, which boasts a 12 plug cylinder head, was also only available on the later models and is mated to a smooth 5 speed automatic gearbox.

She has 12 stamps in her now full up service book (one more now), and many more service invoices in the file proving this. And as we know, when these W129's are looked after properly, they will go on forever!

Since being in our ownership we have serviced her and also put rear wheel spacers on her to better the stance, and used her to drive around town to ascertain she is as good as we think... which she is!

The performance of these cars is subtle but strong, a press of the right foot and you very quickly feel the car take off, with the suspension eating most discomforts in the road paving the way for a smooth, and prompt journey.

These represent incredible value for money and are perfect to use on high days and holidays or on a daily basis.
