1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II originally supplied to HRH Princess Margaret
*** Recent Price Update ***
The Silver Wraith II was an upgraded Silver Shadow with an extra 4" inches in the wheelbase, specifically for the rear seat passengers
Many other features were included for these more expensive upmarket models - the Everflex roof covering was standardised, as where the same wheel discs as the Corniche and Camargue models
The small rear window gave rear seat passengers more privacy too and the chrome embellisher along the window line was another feature common only to the Wraith II
As the title suggests, this particular Wraith II has rather special Royal connections, as it was ordered personally for HRH the Princess Margaret, the Queen's Sister
She used the car from new until her death in 2002, and in fact the Wraith was used to take her closest family members to St George's Chapel, Windsor for her private funeral
Obviously the factory were tasked to adhere to her specific requests and the car has a host of unusual features, as well as the normal Royal requirements, such as Standard Pennant and Royal Crest mountings together with the police blue light to the front of the roof
The door cappings were replaced with black hide - we couldn't fathom why this would have been requested, until we read the Factory Sheets
The Royal Princess was one of the most photographed women in history
She understood that when she alighted from the car the Press photographers flashbulbs' used reflect on the normal burr walnut veneer door cappings and hence the black leather door cappings......Makes more sense now, to mere mortals like us
The car has only 47.500 miles since new and was looked after by the factory in their service department in School Road and the quality of finish, even after nearly 40 years makes this Rolls-Royce stand out from the crowd - in more ways than one
We love the history of this R-R and we love the Royal family too
A one off opportunity for someone we think
