1972 Range Rover

Story and History

1972 Range Rover Classic Suffix 'A' - Convertible

A LHD specification early series Range Rover which was purchased from Monaco in pristine order, at which point the owner delivered her to us and requested a transformation to a family fun vehicle usable back in the South of France to run around, from the Promenade de la Croisette to the Plage and anywhere in between

After 18 months and creation of new alloy panels everywhere, except for the bulkhead, bonnet and windscreen surround, this is exactly what has what he desired - all built to his own specification, with an eye on the Toyota FJ

The hood frame is completely removable whilst when in open top form there is substantial roll bar for safety

The front doors can be easily removed, by lifting them off and the real seats can also be removed with ease - as is the soft top too

Although the vehicle was probably always going to be used 'topless' it was agreed that the hood should be easily usable, should the need arise

Many special touches have been incorporated, whether the rear step, as used by the ladies or an individual 'one off' step probably used by the youngsters to a quicker route to the rear

The doors also have drop down windows, which is rather amusing

The trim and rubber matts have been chosen for outside use at all times - easily cleaned out with a hose is required or just with a brush if covered in dust or sand

Mechanically as was well, except for a good service, this Classic purrs along and the early specification of this Series 'A' even boasts factory air conditioning (working) too

The ultimate utility vehicle, and now available for sale only because of a change in family circumstances
