1998 Bentley Brooklands 'R' Mulliner - Number 4 of 100 & 21.000 miles only
Not only did we sell quite a few of these when new, we've now sold quite a lot of them in more recent times
The pinnacle of the SZ series of Bentley, the 'R' Mulliner is specified to the hilt, unique 18" alloy wheels, wing vents, bespoke lower front spoiler with stainless steel mesch inserts, mesch grill, single exhaust tail pipe, drilled pedals, chrome bezels to instruments, dark stained walnut veneers, magazine nets to rear of front seats, embossed flying 'B' motifs to seat headrests, split top roll, steering wheel, chrome gear knob top, twin tone pebble and sand interior hides, red starter button and an inlaid 'R' Mulliner badge to the radio flap
This chap, number 004 of the 100 produced, we have sold to all owners except the first and therefore know her almost intimately - indeed I must have put on at least 3.000 of the total mileage myself
Condition, as would be hoped, is exceptional both mechanically and cosmetically with all books, papers, tools and lambswool rugs still present
The most recent owner is a farmer from the Midlands who also collects fabulous Range Rovers
Since his purchase only a couple of hundred miles have been added to the overall mileage and indeed we collected her on a transporter so as to keep her usage down to the minimum
The previous owner is a local Chelsea celebrity, board member of Ham Polo, original diary columnist for Hello Magazine (sooo well conected its' untrue!!) and keeper of "Christian the Lion" (just Google it.....)
A real character who has bought very many Bentley's from us, one of which he even exported to Australia for a year whilst he went back to sort out some affairs and then brought it back to England again - true commitment indeed
Having enjoyed the Brooklands 'R' Mulliner, and only really using it for trips to Ham and back, he felt that an older model was more his style and he swopped into another T2
The previous keeper was a Swiss Industrialist who kept her as his London car for the rare occasion in found himself in town - again his usage was kept to the merest journey
Offered in completely immaculate condition, (not even a Lion claw mark to the rear seats), this is in our eyes, the ultimate Brooklands 'R' Mulliner in completely original and correct condition - like buying this when 3 year old from JB's no less
