1963 Bentley S3 Continental 2 door by HJ Mulliner Park Ward
One of our personal favourites - the undervalued and under appreciated Chinese Eye
All of the 2 door Continentals fetch such a premium over these equally, in our eyes, pretty coach built Bentley's
Built in really tiny numbers as they were so very expensive when new they perform with complete aplomb and are a delight to use, even in modern traffic conditions
We bought this example for our own use a number of years ago from the then long term owners who lived in Richmond
The Bentley had been in their ownership for over 25 years and although part of the family had seen very little use indeed - a few thousand miles and that's it
She had been treated to correct and regular maintenance during the period and just prior to sale had been stripped to bare metal and repainted by very well reputed Bentley restoration experts
Within our own workshops we refurbished the interior wood veneers, overhauled the instruments, fitted a high quality stereo ( hidden within the glove box ) and finished everything off with air conditioning and a new set of whitewall tyres
We have subsequently sold her twice to well established customers of ours, the last of whom has had her stored in Mayfair whilst we have carried out all routine and regular maintenance
The previous owner similarly had us take care of her and used her little as he has 30 cars within his collection
So in essence a superior example, presenting in immaculate condition, driving beautifully, having covered very little mileage within the last 30 years and receiving regular and lavish attention during this period
