1959 Fiat Nuova

Story and History

1959 Fiat Nuova 500

This exceptional little 500 Nuova Convertible ( 500 Nuova Transformable in Italy ) has just been the subject of a complete rebuild to the very highest standards & finished in Celeste Blue ( we had a Lancia B24S Convertible in the same delicious colour a year or so ago )

Justification for such extreme care and attention is not just because she is the prettiest thing in town but also possibly the rarest too

As a first series (1957 - 1960), 1950's produced Nuova 500 (Certificate on file to evidence this from the Fiat 500 Registry), and UK right hand drive too, makes this cracker possibly unique - we have not come across another in 25 years

As a first series example many wonderful features abound, some not found on later versions, such as suicide doors, vented front panel to supply cabin fresh air, 3 piece front badge, aluminium window frames, door handles, light surrounds, bonnet & side strips too, interior door & window handles plus choke & starter, dash instruments & general controls

Nicely we also have an original handbook for the RHD version, the original and correct first series only "flat petrol tank" and of course a correct tool roll containing all the right "bits n pieces"

During the meticulous restoration, carried out by a 500 specialist (not us) many sensible upgrades were incorporated to enable this little beauty to be used on a daily basis, should you so wish, 600cc engine & synchromesh gearbox, unleaded substitute kit to fuel tank, alternator, front disc brakes plus upgraded drums to the rear, Monroe-Matic shock absorbers, Mohair soft top, reclining front seats with leather & leatherette covers finished off with wool carpets & sound proofing underlay

A really delicious car in better than new condition, which would sit comfortably in any collection
