1975 Land Rover 90 Series III - 90 miles since complete restoration
Found as an original unmolested example, in need of a thorough and complete restoration a few years ago
The Landie was bought and restored by associates of ours in Scotland, who have a fierce reputation for exacting quality standards
The result of their magnificent works are evidenced here - a better example of this type of vehicle would be hard to find
The Series 3 is the most usable of the old Land Rovers and as a very early example it retains in the cabin the simplicity of the previous models while adding some level of comfort ( please take this at face value - it is a Land Rover after all ), with a mostly weatherproof cabin and a working heater/defroster system
The 2.25 liter petrol engine has been rebuilt from ground up and the cylinder head gas - flowed so the vehicle can easily keep up in modern traffic ( not so easy without these upgrades )
Anybody familiar with the parts situation for old Land Rovers & Range Rovers, will appreciate how much time it takes to track down original parts
Finding things like a complete seatbox, a dashboard or even the correct internal door handles is very difficult and takes an incredible amount of time - however all parts required have been sourced making this really as close to a 1975 vehicle as you are likely to come across
All mechanical parts have been stripped and rebuilt, as have electrics, brakes, suspension and tyres
Basically a new, 39 year old Land Rover
