2017 Caterham Seven

Story and History

2017 Caterham Seven Sprint - Number 25 of 60 and 150 miles only

To celebrate their 60th Anniversary Caterham produced this 'retro' look model, based upon a series Seven which didn't see the light of day in the sixties

They ensured the values of the Sprint are true to the early originals and the chassis were powder-coated grey, just of those of the 60's series 2 whilst the suspension and rollover bar are also reminiscent of Colin Chapman's original

Front wings are flared and a polished exhaust silencer runs along the passenger side of the bodywork whilst the rear lights are pretty, individual units

The wheels are skinny and are painted cream with polished hub caps and the interiors were all finished in hand stitched leather, with chrome bezels for the Smiths instruments

All in all a particularly well developed theme in our eyes and most appealing in the flesh too

Mechanically the machine is fitted with a the a hearty 80bhp from its race‑tuned, three cylinder, turbo charged engine mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox

Astonishing levels of grip and acceleration are just at your finger tips for the best thing about a Caterham / Lotus Seven is just that - they fly at the touch of the throttle pedal and the simple flick of the helm

A few extras we offered at the time of build - and ours has them all plus a period 1960's Suffix 'E' registration number

Things like a windscreen, soft top and side screens !!!

A perfect sports cars in the real world - and so pretty too
