1938 Bentley 4.25 MX chassis series by de Villars
B 8MR is a very well known Derby Bentley with unique coachworks
First seen on the Bentley show stand at the 1938 Paris Salon and finished in dark green with green hide the Bentley was purchased off the stand by General Benhaim, who later worked for the French Resistance during the war, eventually being caught and shot by the Gestapo
The Bentley survived the war and after being used by the Germans during their occupation of France, was shipped over to the US thereafter being used regularly until a long period of storage from 1961 until 1975
At this point a meticulous restoration was undertaken and full records are within the history folders evidencing the extent of the works
She was kept in the US subsequent to her restoration by two long term owners until about 2002 when she was brought back to the UK
Since this time she has been very well looked after by well known RREC / BDC members until the last owner decided to entrust our friends at Michael Hibberd to attend to everything necessary to bring her back up to tip-top condition again
Michael spent over a year and nearly £100.000 and now this wonderful Bentley is probably in as good a condition as any you may care to compare her to
Running beautifully and looking amazing this now represents a very special opportunity to acquire a unique pre-war Bentley, to the ultimate MX specification and with some of the finest French Carosserie available at the time
