1937 Jaguar SS 100 - 2.5 litre
Such elegant lines define most of the best from Sir William Lyons designs and the SS100 is possibly the best of the lot!!!
This early example, from 1937, is in beautiful restored condition and recently benefited from being reunited with an original 2.5 litre engine such as that with which she was originally supplied - previously she had been running a 3.5 litre unit
There is a nice history file since she was repatriated to the UK in 1989, and much correspondence confirming her original specification (black with brown interior - very period)
She has had but one keeper in this period of 23 years and she is a credit to his undoubted affection for her
Prior to this she was in the good ol' US of A, finished in red with a beige interior, beige hood and also a beige spare wheel cover too - very nice I'm sure but a bit lurid for me and I much prefer her gunmetal paint now with burgundy hide
She, as all Jaguars should, purrs along and attracts admiring glances where ever she goes. Superb condition, excellent mechanically and lovely cosmetics without being a pampered concours queen she is truly usable example, able to hold her head up alongside any other example you may come across.
Representing excellent value in today's market she has just been thoroughly checked over by marque experts and amongst other things we have fitted a new mohair hood, tonneau and hood bag together with a new hood frame made to replace the existing vinyl equipment
A full service and new tyres ensure that she is on the button and ready to enjoy to the full
