Incredibly rare Bentley S2 Continental Park Ward DHC with the S3 front wings.

Now this is a rather rare and special car. At first glance it can easily be mistaken for the absolutely gorgeous S3 Continental, although she started life as an S2 version.

The story about this shape was incepted in most part by Park Ward on the Bentley S2, by one Vilhelm Koren. The cars design was the same as the S3 would become other than the front wings, that were on the S2 a single headlight formation - honestly not as attractive as the front lights set up on the S3 and likely why many were upgraded.

She has a fabulous history file, most recently documenting the restoration coming in at £200.000. All invoices for these works are included as well as hundreds of pictures of the works during each stage of the restoration. Much attention was paid to the underside and engine bay, so that she could be displayed on any Concours Lawn or driven to the Cote d'Azure - which ever you prefer to enjoy.

Original build sheets and handbook plus various receipts from it's life up till now are also included within the history folder and in the boot are a Confirmation of her Concours ability for there is a Plaque from Salon Prive at Blenheim Palace to prove same.

Naturally our friends at Frank Dales, who completed the restoration, have driven gently for about 500 miles to run her in, and by now there have been only an extra 250 miles covered, making only 750 miles since the restoration was completed - even the clock tells the correct time. A period radio has been converted to be modern inside and when turned on the electric aerial comes up immediately. I must say that the quality of restoration is of the highest standard - steering column, gear selector and steering wheel have been refurbished, which is not always to the case. Hats off to them, for she is a step up from most we see.

Driving around Chelsea to get the photographs done, she was ever so elegant, both behind the wheel and for onlookers, who smiled and waved, snapped pictures and admired. Quite right too!

Painted in Tudor Grey with black interior she is a stunning combination, and the paintwork so finely done it is impossible to find things wrong.

Probably the best version of this car we have come across to date, and we really love the design. It seems a lot of people do too. Their popularity has soared over the past couple of years & last year we were responsible for over 5 coupes & DHC passing through our doors.. all the later S3 cars', not the S2.

A truly rare car that the next custodian will certainly enjoy.
