1994 Range Rover P38a CVC

Story and History

CVC Pre-Production

Fully Restored

Immaculate condition

The P38a Range Rovers went on sale to the general public in September of 1994, shortly before there was a limited run of launch vehicles made for the Cliveden launch in August - the CVC registered cars

The now fabled CVC's were on display at Cliveden and sent to six locations around the world, Botswana, Japan, Vermont, Tierra del Fuego, Madrid and of course the Cotsworlds

The launch was as extravagant a marketing exercise as had ever been conducted by any car maker before, christened by Land Rover as 'The Epic'. Prospective buyers and press alike could watch live feeds of all the cars crossing terrain thousands of miles away from the comfort of the dealerships sales office tea and biscuits in hand

M247 CVC is one of the rarer manual models and comes complete with the all important Land Rover heritage certificate showing her date of manufacture as 28th July 1994 as well as her original service manual and book pack

She has just come out of an all encompassing restoration where everything has either been restored or changed for an OEM part, and her fresh Biarritz blue paint (original colour of course) looking as resplendent as we are sure it did at the launch

When looking into the engine bay or under the car from any angle she is completely immaculate with road use since the restoration limited only to a few road tests, a journey for an MoT and the short trip for photography all of which done on dry sunny days

P38's were for a short while the unloved of the Range Rover breed but are now getting the appreciation they deserve and the CVC's specifically being traced and snapped up by both collectors and enthusiasts, the Dunsfold Collection have already managed to secure six so they are becoming rarer and rarer

Whether to use more regularly or have as part of a wide ranging collection M247 CVC would serve any prospective buyer very well and as time moves on CVC's will become harder and harder to find and buy
