2002 Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars 'Tourbillon' Chronograph

Story and History

2002 Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Tourbillon

As with any Audemars Piguet, this is magnificent.

Owned from new, and serviced only last year, it is a raring to go collectable, wearable and warranted classic watch. This particular model is a Jules Audemars, manual “Tourbillon” chronograph, with 18 ct white gold case with an incredibly rare Caliber.

Audemars Piguet originally created the 'Jules Audemars' collection very early in its story. Jules Audemars, one of the founders, created 20 very complex movements, which when he and Edward Piguet founded Audemars Piguet & Cie in 1881, they used as collateral to start up. These movements – which ranged from minute repeaters, perpetual calendars, and of course the famous Tourbillon – started a range of watch that still run in the Audemars Piguet collections today, their distinctive trait being all 'Jules Audemars' are circular in shape.

Here this model was purchased in 2002, with the same family that own it now. They have looked after it incredibly well and completed a service at Audemars Piguet as recently as 11th October 2019. The service included the opening of the watch, prewashing the movement, dismantling of every component of the movement, preventive replacement of those subject to wear and damaged, washing of all the components, assembling of the movement and complete lubrication, timing, casing up and final control.

The service from Audemars Piguet has come with a guarantee for a period of 2 years from factory transferable to the new owner.

The watch comes with its papers, original box, and the factory warranty, as well as a brand new Lizard skin strap, to replace the original Lizard strap it comes with.
