1968 Mercedes Benz 280SL 624 running-in miles since restoration Price revision
This very pretty Pagoda is in more than new condition
A complete rotisserie restoration was carried out in Germany, by Arthur Bechtel Classic Motors in Boblingen who have been in business for nearly 50 years, so they certainly know how to do things right
Seeing is believing, as they say and the quality of this restoration is beyond imagination
Arriving with us having covered 600 running in miles, we have added another 24 just to ascertain that she behaves as well as she looks - we have verified this and can state she has pin sharp steering, brakes on a sixpence and the whole drive train is completely fluid
Finished in the prettiest of light blue metallic paint work, with light cream interior adorned with dark blue wool carpets and a matching dark blue mohair soft top
Not a penny was pinched in the restoration with stainless steel exhaust, over mats to protect the wool carpets, full leather interior, overhauled gauges and etc - even the hood tray has been covered in carpet and the hood mechanism springs have been given leather gators......!!
A full record of the restoration is available, as is normal
Whilst the 280SL should have 1 piece wheels discs, the previous owner preferred the earlier 2 piece discs from the 230SL / 250SL range with the wheels being colour coded
We can see his point and really enjoy the look of this beauty
The Pagoda market is quite alive currently and prices continue to rise, even in the recent difficult times of 2016 - 2018 where Ferrari / Aston & Porsche saw their prices decline
The Pagoda seems to buck the trend, as with all things of quality & beauty
See for yourself in Octane magazine issue 197 - November 2019 where restored cars are available for nearly £300.000
Available to view in our London garages
