1998 Mini Cooper 1275 - Built to Cooper S specification - 13.000 miles ONLY
What a smashing example we have here of a late mini built to the Coopers S specification by the Cooper Car Company
In 1997 Mini introduced a multi point fuel injection system to the 1275 engine along with various other upgrades to the car for both safety and practicality really civilising the formula
These included:
Direct electronic ignition
Radiator moved to the front of the engine bay to aid sound deadening
Driver airbag fitted to new leather steering wheel
Side impact beams
Pre-tensioned seatbelts
Remote alarm and immobiliser
Electric headlamp leveling switch
New column stalks with intermittent wipers
Headlining trimmed in soft cloth with sound deadening pads instead of the classic Leyland 'elastoplast'
Alloy throttle pedal - I'm sure this will add at least a horse power!
Rear passenger plastic storage bins
New very comfy seats including front headrests
And many more
If then you want the best example of a classic Mini shape you have to buy post 1997
In addition our car was given the Cooper Car Company upgrade to S specification including an up-swept twin exhaust and performance air filter along with other subtle changes uping the horsepower to 85 and making this the best sounding Mini I've ever encountered
The first owner used the car to take out his young children on weekends. The second and most recent owner, a neighbor of his, has used it sparingly and always kept it garaged hence the super low mileage of 13,000
We have a full history file with the car including 14 service stamps - 2 from the supplying dealer and the rest from the London Mini Center along with the original book pack too
This little Mini can be used as a daily car with all the benefits of modern motoring - cracking stereo, sound deadening, armchair comfy seats etc - or kept as it has been hitherto, for high days and holidays preserving that lovely low mileage
