1933 MG J2 - with period competition history
*** Revised Price ***
These pre-WWII MG's are pure joy and no wonder so many young blades used them in period
Very racy too with a speedometer which shows rev for 3rd and 4th gears (shown in different segments & colours in the actual speedo) and this racy Lady was used to being shown the high life, for she was looked after by the well known Stewart & Ardern Ltd of Berkeley Square and Bond Street...........
Pretty, delightful to drive and with a simply intoxicating exhaust note to boot - who doesn't love them still after over 80 years
This immaculate J2 has come to us from a good chap, who has previously owned a J2 to J4 specification, who definitely knows his MG stuff, and has a rather fine eye for some notable post war cars too
Obviously choosing this cute little red version was a brilliant inspiration for against all others we have seen or used, this must be the finest
Early photographs and reports confirm her use in Trials pre-War and she is listed in all sorts of books - British Trial Drivers, Their Cars and Awards 1929 - 1939, and 75 Years of the J2 MG
Her thick history folder is full of lovely letters from previous owners who remember her fondly, as well as magazine reports and Owners Club articles too
In terms of originality she is one of the best, albeit she has been restored a few times over her life on the roads, and she is not definitely what you could call a 'bits-a'
Well actually far from it, for in her 85th year she was awarded a Trophy at the Prestigious Hurlingham Concours, here in London
She comes with correct carburettors, 2 sets of tools, tonneau, side screens, Rudge Whitworth standard and also a set of chrome wire wheels, both fitted with Blockley tyres, Brooklands aero screens with the original fold flat windscreen, battery cut out switch and an electric fan for the radiator in traffic
Most recently has been treated to a full engine rebuild, hence she starts up on the button every time, and rasps away with aplomb
If you are looking for a J2, or if you weren't, this 86 year old lady is well worth consideration
