1978 Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Here we have an extremely rare series 1 Vantage, pre Oscar India and 1 of 38 only produced
When first tested by Autocar Magazine astonishing performance figures were extracted - 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds and 172mph top speed!!!
This example was a demonstrator for Chapman Spooner and subsequently went into her first owners hands when only a few months old
He kept her until we took her in part exchange from him against a Vantage Volante - and took her to 153.000 miles
During his ownership of 29 years the Vantage was always serviced by Chapman Spooner, and to be fair to him it has been serviced more than necessary
She remains in immaculate condition, although we have just retrimmed the headlining and steering wheel together with new seat bolsters for the drivers seat
We have also detailed the engine bay and given her another good service whilst there
I think this may well be a unique Series 1 Vantage in having such a long term owner and having every single piece of maintenance caried out by the original supplying dealership
Recently road tested by Octane Magazine Editor Robert Coucher, who was only full of praise for this 1970's monster - Loved the colour too!!!
