1973 Porsche 911S 2.4 Targa LHD - 2 year nut & bolt rebuild

This exquisite gem of a 911 is an absolute cracker - originally supplied new to California she boasts factory tints & air conditioning too

A most unusual specification befitting a car destined for the hot climate of this southern American state

Brought over to the UK in 1999, she had last been registered to Kristi Jane Howell in Dana Point, CA before leaving the States and has subsequently been used on a regular basis here in the UK, adding 30.000 miles in the last 15 years

The last owner, a keen motorist and collector (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jaguar & Porsche) undertook and fanatical restoration over a two year period with the utmost attention to detail

What she has created is simply the best 911 2.4S we have ever had the pleasure driving or looking at - rock solid on the road, no synchromesh issues on 2nd gear, strong acceleration, sharp handling and a crisp rasp to the engine and exhaust notes

Seat runners have been polished, instrument bezels powder coated and even the instrument pointers have been repainted - it really is remarkable commitment to doing a job really well

Naturally the wheels have all been properly refurbished (not so easy with the Fuchs alloys) and shod with period correct Michelin XWX's

The interior was in such a wonderful condition prior to the works being undertaken that the seats, fascia panel (often cracked in the heat of the sun) and targa panel were all left untouched as they were in such extraordinarily good condition

Whether they had been refurbished previously in America or had survived miraculously like this since new we know not, as there is no history from her life over there

There is a very complete history folder since arrival here, various photographs and an official Porsche Certificate of Authenticity too

Incidentally as well as the tints (coloured windows on the build sheet) and air conditioning (cooling system) the original owner requested Koni dampers front & rear and the aluminium brake calipers - all of which are still with the car, as is the tool roll and a set of the correct, very comfortable Recaro sports seats

She remains to this day a matching numbers example and is also still in her original specification with paint being finished in Signal Yellow (paint code 5210)

The value of Touring versions of the 2.7 RS have hit the mid hundreds now, and seem destined to continue to rise, so this little gem seems like excellent value to me
