1982 Mercedes Benz 500 SL - 32.000 miles only

A truly fantastic example of these wonderful Mercedes

Always a favourite, and more especially so when fitted with the larger aluminium V8 engines - the 500 SL accelerates like a scalded cat, helped not only by the 245bhp but the 296ft lbs of torque too

Finished in original Mongolian Brown metallic out side with tan hide interior and a dark brown mohair hood, this 500 SL is in truly superb condition - just as would be hoped for, with such careful ownership and low useage

The 500 SL was top of the range and Mercedes treated those customers, prepared to spend the considerable extra cash on this model, by including alloy wheels, sundym glass, electric windows, headlamp wash wipe, cruise control, hard & soft tops and most importantly air conditioning too

The first owner of this example also chose the brilliant colours as well as rear seats and radio with electric aerial, before taking delivery from official dealers Jacksons in the Chanel Islands

She came back to the mainland in 1985, where she was sold to a most famous philanthropist who kept her until 1997

I used to drive past his house regularly and remember the car very well indeed

Recently the original radio has been upgraded to a modern unit with bluetooth phone compatibility and i.Pod connectivity - fortunately the original head unit has been kept and is with the car still

Also there is a cabin cover and wind deflector to satisfy those who want to keep the wig in place whilst driving fast with the roof down

This really is a terribly fine example and seeing is truly believing - in fact there is a condition report, from 2010, within the massive history folder (contains original service voucher booklet, instruction manual, sales brochure etc etc) testifying to the fact that this is as good as, and probably the best example, that the tester had ever come across - we couldn't agree more
