1972 Mercedes Benz 280SE 3.5 - 43.000 miles ONLY

A remarkably original example which has just been delivered here from Mercedes Benz World Brooklands after a �4.000 check over and freshen up.

Nicely finished in her original colours she retains that period austere Mercedes feel - there is no tinted glass, nor a sunroof, or even air conditioning. There are electric windows and the luxury of a driver & passenger door mirror though!!

This example still wears the original Tex interior, (this luxury option was more expensive than leather in period) which of course, in typical Germanic tradition, show little if any wear at all, is testament to the quality of the build of these cars.

For that is what Mercedes were all about in the 1970's - the finest quality of construction. Liken that to the strike ridden British car factories, trying to churn out any alternatives, and the comparison is stark. Whilst Jaguars and the like were stuck by the road side Mercedes just whooshed past.

This example has automatic transmission, power steering and brakes linked to the then newish 3.5 litre fuel injected V8 engine, a great combination giving superb performance for such a large and comfortable vehicle.

Incidentally we would happily exchange this for a good example of the 300SEL 6.3, 450SEL 6.9 or even a 600 saloon.
