1971 Mercedes Benz 280SL Pagoda LHD - Restored Condition
We've always had a penchant for these lovely Paul Bracq designed Mercedes, most recently we've had a little run and quite a number have passed through our hands
This most exceptional example is one of the very best we've ever had in terms of both cosmetic and mechanical condition
The colours are truly amazing and no matter how sharp these pictures may be, you just cannot beat seeing this car in the flesh - sharp and crisp in nearly every department
Originally supplied to the US she was brought over to Spain in 1993 at which point she was restored beautifully and then subject to a magnificent 7 page feature in the Spanish Classic Car magazine Motor Clasico in March 1994
At this stage the speedometer was showing 19.000kms, since when she had been kept in a private collection in Madrid and when imported here 2014 the trip meter had moved on to just 24.500 kms
A full service and tune up have been carried out here in London at a renowned specialist ensuring she purrs along appropriately - she has just completed a 400 mile round trip without missing a beat
Specification is top notch with automatic, power steering, tinted glass, hard top, leather interior, head rests, Mexican hat alloy wheels, drivers door mirrors, air conditioning and an original Becker Mexico radio complete the epic list of bits n pieces
A true cracker and one of our favourites
