1970 Land Rover Velar
Here we are with another Velar
Having sold the oldest surviving Velar and chassis 015A earlier this year we have just 2 others remaining - this one being chassis 007A
She was completed on 28th January 1970 and delivered to the Land Rover Service Department of the Rover Car Company on 5th February
She stayed with the Rover Car Company Ltd until October 1973 and 007A was used for the compilation of service literature and workshop manuals
The log book states she has had 4 owners and the 3rd, who bought her in 1989 undertook and major restoration in 1994 - 1995 (156 photos thereof!!!)
She retains many original parts including her axles, gearbox, bulkhead, doors and chassis
Her rear bench seat is an original prototype trimmed and not PVC injection moulded, as the early production cars had
The front seats were retrimmed by Lew Gostling in 2000 (from the original trim shop in period) too the original specification to match the rear bench seat
Subsequent to the completion of the restoration she won the Best In Show prize at the 1995 Anniversary meet at Gaydon Heritage Motor Centre
She has been not been cacooned since but taken on many Range Rover gatherings, remaining in excellent condition throughout
A very special example, of which, we are very proud to offer for sale
