1998 Bentley Continental T "Special 2 Seater Version"
We knew of this car before she came to us, a few years ago, as a good friend and customer from Holland had kept her in his collection for many years and was only the second owner since new
We then sold her to her third owner, a French nobleman residing in the beautiful area of Chantilly, where she is garaged with 2 other Bentley's and a special 612 Ferrari too
Some of the images are from his beautiful Mill House, and some from the showrooms previously - should anyone wish to see her, arrangements can be made to view her in Paris for ease to travel
Based on the remarkably beautiful Continental R, introduced in 1992, which gave Bentley motor cars that freshly captured the true elegance of their bespoke coachbuilt touring cars of both pre' and post war periods
The Continental T was introduced in 1996 and was an upgraded version of the R which brought to Bentley another dimension of supercar performance together with a somewhat bulldog appearance too
Best described as the Bentley version of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage of the 1980's
Just like the Aston the Bentley has a top speed in excess of 170 mph and that when the frontal area was not exactly too aerodynamic either
The Bentley by 1998 model year had 420 bhp and over 600 ft/lbs of torque so monumental performance was instantly at hand - and all this brought together in the separate production line reserved for Bentley's coachbuilt motorcars
If one was of the mind and felt that at £235.000 (remember this is nearly 20 years ago) more could be expended making your car even more personal you could visit Trevor Gaye in the Mulliner Park Ward Division
Trevor, with years of experience in this field, would lead you into arenas of individual design and bespoke appointments that would leave you astounded - by both what he offered and by the cost too
Nevertheless he ensured that you came out with something unique - a true one off - and this is what we love and indeed have here
Our friends from across the Pond are certainly not ones to shy away from having something Special and this is what led the wonderfully christened James Carter LeBlanc to have Trevor help him to specify his own unique Bentley - and didn't they do a grand job too!
No rear seats and just a special luggage deck behind the two luxurious front seats and the most outrageous Bentley Flying 'B' Mascot - straight out of the 1930's
Twin tone hides inside are complimented by Turned Aluminium throughout, adding to the sporting feel and again an acknowledgement of sporting Bentley's from another era - the 1920's this time
Our last keeper indulged further with a new set of dark blue Lambswool over-rugs, for the foot wells, rear luggage deck and the boot too
The fascia was then fitted with a new Kenwood touch screen stereo with Navigation and blue-tooth - all up to date now
Truly one of kind then, this really offers a fantastic opportunity, and with Continental values rising against the opposition from Ferrari in the form of the 550 or 575, they represent supreme value too
