Another superlative example of these lovely sports coupe / convertibles
Prices have swelled recently, brought about by the immense rise in value of the earlier 300SL, for which tip-top cars are now over a million pounds
Supplied to only 4 owners since new, the third of whom bought it in 1987 for his wife when 72.513 miles had been covered
He undertook a major restoration project, between 1989 and 1994, by local Mercedes specialists S Bolz Ltd, whereby a cosmetic and mechanical overhaul were carried out - engine, gearbox and fuel injection system were addressed as well as paintwork and brightwork
The last owner bought her 4 years ago and has covered a nominal mileage in that time, taking the current speedometer reading to 88.000, and she has just undergone a check over and fluids service by our friends at the SL Shop
Presently in totally immaculate condition this lovely 280SL still sports the original push button radio and MB Tex interior, which is immaculate save one small nip to the edge of the drivers seat - she also has both tops in supreme condition too
Having travelled only 8.000 miles in the 20 years since restoration and being kept in perfect conditions during that time this example is surely one of the finest around and drives just as well as she looks, complete with the spine tingling exhaust rasp so unique to these SL's
