2008 Aston Martin DBS

Story and History

2008 Aston Martin DBS Barbara Broccoli Casino Royale Special

When the Aston Martin DBS was used for the latest James Bond film, Casino Royale in 2005, it did not just launch the Bond career of Daniel Craig, it was also the launch platform (literally in one of the scenes) for the new DBS - finished in what was to become known as "Casino Royal Grey"

The DBS replaced the Vanquish S and Top Gear's Stig managed to clip 2 seconds off the Vanquish's lap time with the new arrival - hardly surprising really with a 0 - 60 time of just 4.3 seconds and topping out at over 190 mph

The road going version (as opposed to the film version) was launched by Aston at the Pebble Beach Concours in late August 2007 and customer cars began to be delivered in early 2008

Our car is a true one off - being the example built especially for James Bond co Producer and daughter of the famous Cubby Broccoli who was brought together with Harry Saltzman, all those years ago to get the movies onto the screen

Saltzman owned the TV & Film rights and Cubby had the "clout" to get them onto celluloid

Barbara his well respected daughter has been a leading light in helping to bring the film series back on track and so enamoured with the film DBS was she that together with Aston Martin Chairman, Dr Ulrich Bez, she put together the specification for her own road car

Chassis number, naturally is number 007 and together with Casino Royale colours, manual gear box, sill plate plaques and special embroidery to both headrests and over mats make this example UNIQUE

The centre piece for a number of newspaper and internet articles this really is the "top of the pops' for the modern Bond fan and certainly more press coverage is available for any future owner who is of a mind - as is entry into many Concours and Show arenas where a Bond connection can open so many doors

Our heroin kept the car for nearly 5 years and covered only 4.500 miles before one of our younger customers, who refreshingly is more Aston than Ferrari minded, saw the car and fell in love

He let it go once, regretted it and brought it back again

A change in garage space has led to the special opportunity which we have here now

Surely bound to appreciate in value in years to come this truly is a most remarkable opportunity
