1967 Bentley T Series - extremely rare first series example
As the main title suggests this really is it - rarer than the T2 (I haven't come across one since the 1990's)
Unique first series specification included:-
Opening front quarter lights
4 speed automatic gearbox
Delicate interior chromed door pulls and handles
Supplied through Jack Barclay to the Hon Mrs Eykyn of Chelsea SW3 in July 1967, she was first registered in January 1968, was supplied with factory fitted air conditioning (wow that's nice) and front seat belts
A low ownership and mileage car there have been but 4 owners from new - the last for 36 years with a mileage of just over 100.000
There are MoT's from the 1970's and 1980's (the first in 1977) together with factory records of mileage at each previous owner change. The last owner put her into nice dry storage many years ago and it from this environment that we came by ownership
You can see from the photographs that the interior is completely original, with wood veneers in delightful condition, all switch gear operating nicely (we have also lubricated these for further ease of use), carpets in super condition and hides whilst showing signs of colour loss in places, being a real joy to behold
The body and bright work have been polished to a nice shine and the underside rubbed down and undersealed in our workshops
Mechanically we undertook an hydraulic service and replaced such things as calipers rear, discs rear, pads all round and overhauled the master servo too
She really is a pleasant place in which to sit and on the move purrs along in serene comfort
