1993 Aston Martin Virage Wide Body 6.3 Volante - 400 miles ONLY
Only 223 Virage Volantes were built - which makes it so strange that we should have 2 in as many weeks!!!
This example is even rarer being the Wide Body Version and with the 6.3 litre engine upgrade too
AML proclaimed that power went up from 306 to 500Bhp and torque was up to 480 lb/ft from 340 lb/ft
AML performance figures were, as expected, astounding
0 - 60 = 5.1 seconds
0 - 100 = 11.5 seconds
Top speed = 174Mph
Only 65 of these were hand crafted by AML and what proportion of Volantes to Coupes is not clear
No matter, we have established that this is a very unusual Aston Martin indeed, and all the more so considering the fact that she has remained unused for almost the whole of her existance
What we have here, in essence, is possibly a unique car - the condition is exactly as you would hope for a car with this mileage and she does not give any clue to her 18 years on this planet
Originally supplied to an eminent collector and Royal Family member, she was kept unused in their collection until purchased by her second owner and repatriated to the UK in 2008
He similarly had very many cars and also hardly used her - her mileage at the point of his disposal was still only 250, her third and most recent owner has taken her on a run down to Goodwood and now the mileage is 412
Possibly an unrepeatable opportunity and offered at a fraction of the build cost, even in 1993!!!
