1959 Austin Healey 3000 MKI BN7 - Concours Condition
A remarkable Healey, built with literally no expense spared
Over 2000 man hours were lavished producing what must be, if not the best, then certainly one of the very best examples anywhere in the World
She was commissioned by a well known chap in the fruit and vegetable world, who had owned one in the 1960's and wanted to re-live this part of his life again
The wonderful Primrose exterior colour matches the brochure car (of course a copy is in extensive history folder) and is complimented by the delightful blue leather seats, carpets and wet weather gear
His example had steel wheels with chrome hub caps, so of course this one does too (we rather like the steel wheels, whilst understanding the majority fall for the wire wheel option and we can offer this conversion to any prospective purchaser)
A few other notable additions were dialed in to the restoration, and are for ease of use:-
Centre gear change with uprated overdrive
Diaphragm clutch
Uprated front discs (the MKI came with discs anyhow)
Alternator
Uprated cooling fan
Uprated radiator
Pre engaged starter
Spin on oil filter
2" SU carbs on Dennis Welch inlet manifold
Since the restoration was completed in 2015 only 860 miles have been travelled and therefore since she is not quite run in we will finish this off, give her the first 1.000 mile service and the next, and very lucky, owner can run her through the gears to their hearts content
We simply cannot express how wonderful this big Healey really is and to see is to behold the wondrous works completed by the very well renowned Bill Rawles and his team
A full photographic record is held in a nice booklet, there is 'dongle' with simply 1,000's of restoration images and an itemised bill (which runs to very many pages) listing hours spent and parts used, (amazingly organised as it's alphabetical) culminating in a total - wait for it - of over £156.000
Yes let me please repeat this for those who cannot quite digest this in one go - £156.000 was the total cost for the restoration
Perhaps it becomes clear now just how wonderful this truly excellent Healey really is
A very rare opportunity - a nearly 60 year old car, in better condition than when brand new, offered run in and at a most substantial reduction on the cost of the restoration too
