1960 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud with Division - ex Prince Chula of Thailand
We are great fans of the Silver Cloud and Bentley S type range of cars, whether coach built, or standard steel as is this example
The lines of the standard car are exquisite, still looking elegant and imposing over 50 years after they were originally penned
Built to HRH's explicit request and supplied through Jack Barclay Ltd who had a long established relationship with the Thai Royal Household well into the 1990's - whilst there I sold a Phantom VI to the Crown Prince in 1991 and thereafter undertook the restoration of several cars for the Royal Household
Prince Chula was, like his cousin Prince Bira, a firm motoring enthusiast and racing driver, although this Rolls-Royce was undoubtedly usually more likely to have been chauffeur driven
After his death in 1963 the LWB Cloud II made it's way, as did very many other RHD Rolls-Royce and Bentley, to the USA
Coming back to Europe very recently the interior has been nicely re-trimmed in dark blue hide and she has the benefit of additions such as air conditioning, a division and a webasto sunroof
She presents really nicely with an absolutely immaculate engine bay, superb veneers and she drives really very well indeed
Great for Ascot, Goodwood or just a day out with friends and family these Rolls-Royces represent excellent value - we shall certainly be using her when we have the opportunity
