1991 Range Rover CSK - 190 of 200
The CSK Range Rover is a rare beast in every respect, this CSK being number 190 out of the 200 produced. This one is pretty sumptuous too
As you probably know, the CSK was a special edition model built to commemorate 20 years of the Range Rover. The CSK's namesake, Charles Spencer King was a man first apprenticed by Rolls-Royce who then moved to the Rover team, leading such projects as the Rover P6 and later the Range Rover
On the road they are more overtly sporting than the standard Vogue with many upgrades to include, but not exclusive to, uprated sports suspension - in effect a GTi Range Rover, these cars becoming the predecessor to what we now recognise as the Sports Utility Vehicle (S.U.V.)
So you have a fast 3 door Range Rover with leather seating and air conditioning which is as comfortable taking you off road on a shoot as pressing on along a fast back road on the way home
She drives beautifully and belies her true mileage of 125.000 – however she has been fortunate to receive plenty of love and attention whilst in our care previously in 2012, and we are delighted to see her again
The service record has stamped history from the first complementary dealer service up until 80.000, and the impressive history folder then continues with numerous service invoices for the miles up to the current reading
Number 190 benefits from a 2013 engine rebuild comprising machining of cylinder block and heads, rebuilt rocker shaft assembly, new camshaft and sundry components, all in at £5000 which has now been nicely run in. In fact with the tubular manifolds and full stainless steel exhaust system, this CSK really does fly
Also at this time the interior was completely retrimmed in tan hide, with quilting to seat centres and doorcards together with matching new carpets throughout
We had carried out a bare metal repaint in 2012 (and since then a mere 2240 miles have been covered). So what we have here is in essence a mechanically and cosmetically rebuilt CSK – one of the very last produced – with original CSK book pack and sales brochures
Actually quite a fabulous car and offered at a very reasonable price too!!
