1988 Porsche 911

Story and History

1988 Porsche 911 3.3 Turbo

Very pleasing to have this excellent example back with us again, having sold her to her last owner in the early Spring of 2008

Finished in special order Venetian blue metallic with linen hide interior, piped in dark blue she benefits from colour coded original 16" Fuchs alloy wheels plus a host of mechanical upgrades

When we last supplied her she was showing 66.000 miles and now that has moved on to 71.000 backed up by a complete book pack containing the original service voucher booklet with 24 Official Porsche Service Centre stamps and a further 7 Specialist Service Centre stamps

There is also a large history folder with many old MoT's and various service invoices, Porsche colour catalogue and price list for the 1988 model year range too

Since our sale in 2008 the last owner has carried out a range of upgrades and enhancements to his own meticulous specification - he is an Airline Captain for a National Carrier - so nothing has been done before the most intricate investigations to ensure only the optimum equipment and specialists were used

There are bills, reports and photographs to evidence the overhaul of the engine / gearbox / suspension / injection / brakes & exhaust whilst the underside has been washed down and waxoil treated

Special airflow meters have been utilised to ensure optimum fuel / air mixtures in all rev ranges for each cylinder, a VDO boost gauge fitted within the instrument binnacle to replace the clock and yet still look factory fitted, there is a neat brake cooling duct to the off side front bumper quarter, the suspension is just a touch lower than normal and the engine produces 375hp as opposed to the factory 330hp - a special inter-cooler helps with this (cost alone over 3.000 - total expenditure by our last owner has been over 17.000)

Should you wish for well over 400hp just replace the existing low pressure waste gate spring for a 1 bar unit - our Pilot prefering ultimate durability over outright power

So what does all this mean in reality? Well, a high performance yet tractable example, in superb cosmetic condition which has been maintained regardless of cost throughout it's life and is one of the fastest forms of cross country transport available anywhere!!!

These rare, top of the range 911's are sure to continue to rise in value as their quality and true ground covering capability (over 160mph & 0 - 60 mph 5.3 seconds) are truly recognised
